Nancy began life in the insurance business with a part-time job in a small agency in 1972. It quickly became apparent that she deeply enjoyed the challenge of the highly complex insurance industry. A genuine, heartfelt love of helping people translated into the desire to help her clients protect their loved ones and the material things they had worked so hard to acquire.

Over the years Nancy has gained an impressive quantity of technical expertise in both Personal and Commercial lines of Property and Casualty Insurance, both as a student and as an instructor/lecturer. She obtained her CPCU designation in 1984 and served all officer roles including two terms as President for the South Coast Chapter. Due to her many decades of outstanding insurance service and education, Nancy is often called on as an Expert Witness by Southern California law firms.

In addition to helping NHC, Nancy is also an active philanthropist. Involved in many local charities including Toberman Neighborhood Center Auxiliary and The Palos Verdes Art Center Circle. Her consistent involvement over many years is deeply appreciated throughout the South Bay.

An avid, highly competitive, nationally ranked bridge player, Nancy plays as often as time allows. Married to her beloved Charles “Skip” Collinge since 1982, with three grown children, six grandchildren and five great grandkids, Nancy’s life is never dull!

Jessica began her career with NHC in 2001 as a worker’s compensation customer service assistant. She quickly obtained her Fire & Casualty Broker license in 2002. She loves that her career allows her to constantly learn new things and in the field of insurance she has many opportunities to do so since the laws and insurance company guidelines are ever changing.

In 2005, Jessica was promoted to Commercial Lines Manager and has since been securing insurance coverages for our new and existing commercial clients. She attained her professional insurance designation in 2011 from the National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research as a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). She enjoys passing on the knowledge she has learned to NHC’s clients. She knows they appreciate being well informed and feels that this knowledge coupled with personal service is what keeps the relationship strong and long-term.

We really appreciate the fast and friendly service provided to us by Jessica. We were recently running out of time to keep our insurance policies from lapsing and she was able to assist us within a day of our submitting the necessary paperwork.

Additionally, she had the initiative to solicit us for a quote on a policy that we had with another carrier, which we had not planned on switching, and the result was that we saved $700 on that policy written by NHC.

Julia started out at NHC in the fall of 1995 as a receptionist. Julia’s dedication and extra effort allowed her to work her way from receptionist/office assistant up to her present position of Personal Lines Manager.

Since earning her insurance license, Julia has since received her CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative) designation as well as her CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation.

Always wanting to know more, Julia will continue her insurance education towards her CPRM (Certified Personal Risk Manager) adding to her considerable knowledge.  Julia’s favorite part of the job is when a client hangs up saying “Thank You, it makes sense now”.

Julia is also part of a local BNI Networking Chapter where she serves as the Chapters Personal Insurance Guru.  Julia is also a member of the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce and she’s about helping build her community.  Julia truly enjoys alleviating her client’s insurance headaches, reducing their stress and helping them rest easier when coverages or premiums are a concern.

Leana Schwartz started her career in the insurance industry with NHC Insurance in 2004. She began as the assistant to the original owner and founder, NHC herself – Nancy Halgren-Collinge.

She also assisted the Personal Lines Department on a part-time basis, however, she was intrigued by the complexities of Commercial Insurance and made the switch soon after and has never looked back.

Leana’s work in the Commercial Lines Department continued until 2010, when she moved to Colorado to be with the love of her life, Jon. While in Colorado and Arizona, she became the head of the Commercial Lines Department for two different insurance agencies gaining a wealth of skill and knowledge. Leana and Jon returned back home to Southern California in 2013.

Leana came back to the NHC Family shortly after returning to SoCal to work as a Producer for the Commercial Lines Department. She is now part owner of the business with her 5 other partners who have all been a part of this amazing company for many years.

Leana guarantees that when you are working with her, you will be a priority.  She will have your best interest at heart, and will always shoot straight from the hip. You will definitely enjoy the ease with which she is able to connect with people.  She looks forward to speaking with you and helping you in any way she can!

I must take a moment to let you know once again, how pleased I am with the service being provided to me by Patty Alvarez. Last summer I purchased a second home, and she was invaluable in helping me determine and purchase the “right” coverage. In addition, her heart is purely with your customers. She is so patient and because of that quality, as well as her outstanding expertise, she has now written every insurance policy that I have. She has worked diligently with me, on many occasions, to arrive at the most economical and necessary coverage for two of my residences, one income property, and my automobile.

My experience with NHC Insurance Services has been a delight. They handle my personal auto insurance needs. Every employee and management personnel holds a professional and friendly attitude towards their customers. Every time I call NHC with questions regarding my policy, they are quick to help me and provide me advice on my insurance needs.

Everybody there is very resourceful, but there is one person who has always helped me with excellent service. Renee Ruan has handled my auto insurance for the past 3~4 years. Although Sunshine knew about the huge problem regarding our Business Owners Insurance, she stepped right in and sorted things out.

Not only did she correct the problem with the current policy period but she also rectified a problem on the prior year’s audit. And in addition was able to stop the cancellation process that was already in motion and to become effective at 12:01am that evening.

I must say for the first time in my life I'm able to afford car insurance .. I'm not a bad driver but my driving record is not immaculate either.
