Meet Team NHC

NHC Insurance Services is 100% women owned and operated. As such, we take a slightly different approach than most independent insurance agencies. Nurturing, friendly, kind and compassionate, we see our clients as an extension of our family and treat them as such. Julia started out at NHC in the fall of 1995 as a receptionist. Julia’s dedication and extra effort allowed her to work her way from receptionist/office assistant up to her present position of Personal Lines Manager.

Since earning her insurance license, Julia has since received her CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative) designation as well as her CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation.

Always wanting to know more, Julia will continue her insurance education towards her CPRM (Certified Personal Risk Manager) adding to her considerable knowledge. Julia’s favorite part of the job is when a client hangs up saying “Thank You, it makes sense now”.

Julia is also part of a local BNI Networking Chapter where she serves as the Chapters Personal Insurance Guru. Julia is also a member of the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce and she’s about helping build her community. Julia truly enjoys alleviating her client’s insurance headaches, reducing their stress and helping them rest easier when coverages or premiums are a concern.

An avid sports fan, Julia has been a huge supporter of the Denver Broncos since 1988. Julia has 2 kids, her son Michael, 24 and her daughter Megan, 30 who is a Sargent in the US Army, HOOAH. Julia is obsessed with her family of NFL Dogs; Decker and KC. One thing most people don’t know about Julia is she is terrified of snakes!

We are so fortunate that Julia Burdick is our insurance agent. My wife and I would like to extend a huge “Thank You” for the outstanding service Julia has provided for our family.

Patty came to NHC Insurance Services on Valentine’s Day of 2002 – how sweet is that?! She got her Insurance License in 2004, at which time she moved into the Personal Lines Department.

She assists the Personal Lines team with all types of changes and quotes. Patty is also the personal insurance department’s Claims Specialist.

She is bilingual, which helps many Spanish speaking clients understand their coverages. Patty’s work is appreciated by so many that all of our clients speak very highly of her.

She has been married since 1997 to her prince charming! She loves to cook and entertain her family and friends.

Whatever free time she has, she loves to take advantage and take relaxing vacations to explore the world. What girl doesn’t?!

I must take a moment to let you know once again, how pleased I am with the service being provided to me by Patty Alvarez. Last summer I purchased a second home, and she was invaluable in helping me determine and purchase the “right” coverage. In addition, her heart is purely with your customers. She is so patient and because of that quality, as well as her outstanding expertise, she has now written every insurance policy that I have. She has worked diligently with me, on many occasions, to arrive at the most economical and necessary coverage for two of my residences, one income property, and my automobile.

Renee began her career at NHC as a part time file clerk in early 1998, quickly proving herself valuable.

Renee was asked to come aboard as a full time Receptionist/Office Assistant two months later.

She received her Agent’s license four months later and began sales and service in the Personal Lines department. Shortly after she received her CISR designation in 2000 and has since worked her way up to being a partner at NHC.

Renee enjoys taking care of existing clients as well as selling new business.

She loves to educate clients on the importance on being properly insured. She also finds that customers are very appreciative of the time and care NHC takes in providing these services.

Renee spends her free time with her kids, family and friends having huge Family get-togethers or living it up at the River.

My experience with NHC Insurance Services has been a delight. They handle my personal auto insurance needs. Every employee and management personnel holds a professional and friendly attitude towards their customers. Every time I call NHC with questions regarding my policy, they are quick to help me and provide me advice on my insurance needs.

Everybody there is very resourceful, but there is one person who has always helped me with excellent service. Renee Ruan has handled my auto insurance for the past 3~4 years. I have never encountered any problems or headaches regarding my auto policy. Bottom line, if you have insurance needs, I would highly recommend and use NHC Insurance Services as my representative.

Sarina joined NHC in 2013 and has since put the agency on an efficiency track.

She brings 20+ years of accounting and bookkeeping experience to the NHC team.

Sarina interacts directly with our carriers in order to provide billing support for both agency and direct billed clients. She works hard to problem solve and find solutions to help streamline the accounting process of the agency.

Outside of work, Sarina enjoys cooking, gardening and camping with her friends as well as spending time with her Grandmother and family.

Sarina joined NHC in 2013 and has since put the agency on an efficiency track.

She brings 20+ years of accounting and bookkeeping experience to the NHC team.

Outside of work, Sarina enjoys cooking, gardening and camping with her friends as well as spending time with her Grandmother and family.

Sarina is a very organized, bright and meticulous accountant. We always count on her to handle all of our finances and other odds and ends and she always knocks it out of the park.

Sunshine Justiniano began working for NHC back in 2003 as the front desk receptionist. One year later she obtained her Fire & Casualty Broker license and has been working in the Commercial Department ever since.

She is truly the back bone of the Commercial Department. Her helpful, sociable, and charismatic personality makes it easy for her to provide top tier service to her clients.

She likes the challenge that the constant evolution of insurance laws provides, always keeping her on her toes. Helping her clients and building business relationships is her favorite part of the commercial department.

Sunshine is a lifelong San Pedran. She has been happily married to her husband Rick for 19 years.

She loves spending time with her 3 children. Whether it be on the baseball / softball field, on vacation, or simply at home you will never see Sunshine without her family.

Although Sunshine knew about the huge problem regarding our Business Owners Insurance, she stepped right in and sorted things out.

Not only did she correct the problem with the current policy period but she also rectified a problem on the prior year’s audit. And in addition was able to stop the cancellation process that was already in motion and to become effective at 12:01am that evening.

She has been a terrific help and never once was even the slightest bit annoyed about any of it. Because of her, I will recommend anyone I know looking for Business Insurance to contact NHC Insurance. You have a real find, and should be proud of her.
