Auto Insurance

Driving peace of mind

The right auto insurance policy can help get you back on the road quickly. If your car is damaged or destroyed by accident, fire, theft, or other covered event, proper coverage is key. Beyond your vehicle, a well-written auto insurance policy may also provide protection against medical and legal expenses resulting from injury, loss of life, or property damage caused by an accident involving your vehicle.

Not all insurance contracts are the same. There are many insurance companies that have rules or conditions to their policies that will exclude coverage for certain types of events that the average consumer would assume are covered. When comparing auto insurance policies, there’s more to it than just comparing the limits and rates quoted!

When it comes to insurance for myself and family I go with only one thing – peace of mind that’s what I call NHC Insurance. I have our home, autos and personal property all with NHC. The professional service and response that I get every time I talk to Julia Burdick is number one. I know that when I hang up the phone it’s taken care of – peace of mind.

How much auto insurance is right for you?

Our team understands the auto insurance needs of our customers. We work with multiple auto insurance carriers in order to find the right company for each individual’s needs. If you own a home or have assets or money you want to protect in the event of a lawsuit, then I recommend carrying very high limits or you can risk a lien being put against your home. Take the extra 5 minutes to have one of our expert agents quote you at the next highest liability limits as the difference in the monthly rate can be very minimal.

We write insurance in California as well as many other states and we would be happy to help you ensure you have the right coverage for wherever you may live.

Get to Know: Coverage Terms

Insurance terminology can be mystifying. Let us help break it down for you! Click/tap on any of the subjects below to find out what the heck we’re talking about.

Helps pay for bodily injury expenses, like hospital bills and medical care, that you may be held responsible to pay if you cause an accident that injures another driver or another vehicle’s passengers.

Collision insurance coverage pays for damage to your vehicle in an automobile accident. Standard collision coverage will pay for repairs up to the fair market value of your car. If you are making payments to a lienholder on your car, then this coverage is required. The higher the deductible you’re willing to pay, the less the collision coverage will cost. This deductible usually comes into play when you or the driver of your vehicle are at fault. If the other driver is at fault, then their insurance company should take care of your damages with no deductible applied. When your insurance provider pays out on a collision claim in which you or the driver of your car are at fault, then you will likely see a point on your driving record and your insurance premium will likely increase.

Comprehensive coverage pays when your car is stolen, catches fire, flooded, vandalised and broken glass just to name a few. Comprehensive is anything that can happen to your car other than having a collision. Like collision coverage, comprehensive usually yields a lower deductible and if a claim falls under your comprehensive coverage, it’s not considered a moving violation and wouldn’t add a point to your driving record causing your premium to increase.

For homeowners, this coverage applies if someone is injured or property is damaged and you are to blame. The coverage applies anywhere in the world. When choosing liability coverage for your home, auto, boat, personal watercraft, or RV, consider things like how much money you make and what you own. Your liability coverage should be high enough to protect your belongings if you are sued.

When you are found legally responsible for a vehicle accident, this coverage pays for costs associated with repairing or replacing another person’s property.

Pays for damages associated with bodily injury or death from an accident caused by an uninsured, underinsured or hit-and-run driver, as defined by the law in the jurisdiction where the accident occurred, who is at fault. It also covers you if you are hit as a pedestrian.
